Pharmacist:
Pharmacist is a Health care provider who is licensed to prepare, compound and dispense drugs.
Eligibility: To become a Pharmacist student must be successfully complete it’s 2 year diploma in pharmacy (D.Pharm) or 4 year degree in pharmacy (B.Pharm) course.
D.Pharm (Diploma in Pharmacy)
Duration: 2 years
Qualification: 12th (10+2) in Scinence stream, with main subjects physics chemistry & biology with minimum 50% marks.
Career in D.Pharm:
Chemist/Medical shop: After successful completion of 2 years Diploma programme in D.Pharmacy, Students will be able to registered themselves as a Pharmacist under their respective state Pharmacy council by PCI (pharmacy council of India). The state Pharmacy council entitled you as a registered Pharmacist & issue the registration certificate with PPP card.
(Note that registration and license both are differ, Registration issued by Pharmacy council & License issued by FDA to open a chemist shop)
Marketing Executive (M.R) : There is lot of pharmaceuticals companies are running their business by marketing his product to Physician/Pharmacist/Hospitals. Here you can make your career by choosing the best reputed organization.
The growth of income is much higher compare to other field. Pay scale is differ from company to company it could be from 1.4 to 2.8 and increases up word by experience.
Gov. Pharmacist: You can get government job as pharmacist (dispenser/compounder) by qualifying government exam.
B.Pharm (Bachelor in Pharmacy)
Duration: 4 years (on D.pharm you will get direct admission to 2nd year)
Qualification: 12th (10+2) in Scinence stream, with main subjects physics chemistry & biology with minimum 50% marks.
Career in B.Pharm
Pharmacist/Hospital Pharmacist
Higher education: After successful completion of B.Pharm you can choose for M.pharm, Pharm D., MBA in pharma for better future prospects.
